Mission
Being a Maintenance Buyer Planner with us means playing a key role in the strategic sourcing of parts, equipment and services required to support our operations. You will contribute directly to cost optimization, the availability of critical spare parts and the overall efficiency of maintenance activities.
As a Maintenance Buyer Planner, you will be responsible for purchasing, inventory management and the planning of preventive and corrective maintenance activities. You will work closely with maintenance, production and supplier teams to ensure the availability of the resources needed to support our operations.
On a daily basis, you will:
- Request quotations from suppliers and execute purchases in accordance with established budgets and company purchasing policies;
- Follow up with suppliers and communicate lead times or stock shortages to ensure operational deadlines are met;
- Verify received items and invoices against requested specifications and perform the required follow-ups when discrepancies occur;
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with suppliers;
- Negotiate annual agreements for goods and services required by the department;
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure effective inventory management;
- Maintain the parts storeroom in a clean and organized condition in accordance with 5S principles;
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities related to purchasing, inventory and maintenance activities;
- Collaborate with internal teams to determine required inventory levels, critical spare parts and consumable items;
- Analyze procurement requirements and process material requisitions using the CMMS system;
- Plan work orders and coordinate maintenance activities for the entire maintenance team;
- Monitor and follow up on work requests originating from various production areas;
- Participate in maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement projects with multidisciplinary teams;
- Contribute to equipment performance optimization and downtime reduction.
Profile
You are the person we are looking for if you have:
- A DEP or DEC in Procurement, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electromechanics, or another relevant field;
- 3 to 6 years of experience in a similar role;
- Experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment;
- Knowledge of maintenance planning;
- Knowledge of a CMMS system, particularly Interal (an asset);
- Experience managing Min/Max inventory systems;
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite;
- Knowledge of ISO standards;
- Strong negotiation and communication skills;
- Advanced proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written;
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and a high level of accuracy;
- Strong autonomy and analytical abilities;
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
