Mission
The intern will participate in machine risk analyses and the development of management tools related to health and safety documentation. Supporting the OHS Advisor, the intern will work with health and safety representatives and engineers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Risk analyses: Inventory existing machine risk analyses and group them according to the equipment inventory; participate in risk analyses for specific machines alongside engineering team members.
- Performance validation tools for OHS representatives: Configure simple tools to facilitate the validation of inspections and audits based on a set schedule; track the status of inspections and audits against monthly and annual deadlines; train responsible personnel on the use of these tools.
- Lockout/tagout program: Verify the list of and access to lockout procedures; review the program; audit the application of lockout instructions, the program itself, and training.
- Record OHS documentation and update training records.
- Present a summary of risk analyses, validation tools, and lockout audits to the Quality, OHS, and Environment Director, with support from the OHS Advisor.
Profile
- Currently pursuing studies in OHS, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering (certificate, DEC, or bachelor’s degree).
- Knowledge of OHS laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite. › Programming skills (an asset).
- Autonomy and good judgment.
- Communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (an asset).
- Specific experience with Excel.
